Welcome to our blog - come in, look around and stay a while. This is a place where we can offer each other support, ask/answer questions and share ideas. We are all in this together, working towards a common goal, so remember that you are never alone no matter how tough it gets. Now that we have graduated, our blog will graduate, too, to support us in our early careers as RNs. So check back in from time to time... Ya hear?

I would advise doing NCLEX practice questions w/ rationals until you're sick of them and then keep doing them anyway. Use the ATI, NCSBN for content review and practice questions. Make sure to get a good nights sleep the night before, make yourself eat breakfast (your brain need fuel)and trust yourself because you know this stuff. Be prepared to feel like you failed when you leave, I actually cried (shocking I know). Good Luck everyone!
Sarilda Chaffin RN (couldn't resist)
Yay - RN!! Luxuriate in it, girl!! :-)
Thanks for the good advice.
hahaha sue, i read that and thought you said lux-urinate...i have been reading nurse crap for way to long!!!
Here's what I've got......
Questions, Questions, Questions! Try to do it in a setting that replicates a test setting.
I wouldn't bother trying to know each and every drug, just know classes and major SE (when to call the MD, what to avoid when taking these meds...if applicable). I only recognized 3 of the drugs out of about 7-8 (only knew info on ONE). Teaching is important.
Rationales are your friend, regardless of whether you think you know why it's the answer or not. Knowing the other are WRONG helped me on a few questions.
Don't rush! I almost missed a question, bc the "needs further teaching" thing didn't register.
I was 2nd guessing myself like crazy, which i don't normally do, but i made myself keep the first response every time....i know, testing 101, right? But I had to remind myself this. Just think, we have been studying for the NCLEX for 2 years, right?
And lastly, like I said in my crazy NCLEX day story, you WILL think you failed. I think I check the BRN website around 50-60 times (not exaggerating!).
Call your RN friends to reassure you and take a break. Sarilda sent me an email telling me that I didn't fail, and I had to read it everyday until I got my results....your classmates have faith in you for a reason.
It's not so bad! Yea right!!
