Dress Code?

Hi all, I had a quick question for whoever can answer this... I unknowingly missed orientation and overheard something about a dress code of no jeans, open-toed shoes and covering of tatoos. What does this pertain to? Lecture? Skills lab? If someone could fill me in, that would be great. Thanks and hope to meet everyone soon.

Hi, Chris. Please refer to the Uniforms and Accessories section of the Instruction Manual (pp 21-22). It refers to the clinical settings.

Hope this answers your question.

Hi Chris,

The dress code of no jeans is for clinical. When you go to the hospital, most of the time you will be in your scrubs, lab coat and white shoes (closed toed) and yes, I believe that your tattoos have to be coverd at all times in the hospital so if you have them on your arms, you should wear your lab coat ... that will cover them but ASK YOUR CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR. When you get to Nursing 5, you will wear street clothes and this is where the NO JEANS, heels, open backed and toes plays a part. Slacks and polo shirt or something like that will work. As for lecture and skills lab ... we pretty much wore whatever ... jeans, sweats and such. You will be there for 3 to four hours and sometimes longer so you will want to be somewhat comfortable.

Hope that helps you! Good luck.
